What to Bring to Fashion Week

If you are starting to consider what to bring to fashion week to shoot street style, here are my checking list.

Toilleteries

  • Tooth Brush
  • Tooth Paste
  • Lotion
  • Contact Lens/Solution
  • Shampoo
  • Body wash
  • Towel x 2
  • First Aid Kit (for cuts and blisters)
  • Zip-lock bags to organize above items

Make sure these are stocked properly, otherwise you will have to spend a lot of money and time to get it while you are travelling. Grab multiple 100ml bottles from Dollar stores near you to fill those shampoo, body wash, lotions, etc… one 100ml bottles usually last about 10 days so consider your usage.

Meds

  • Tyrenol/Advil
  • Pepto mismol
  • Multi Vitamins
  • Vitamin C booster pills

Nothing worse than getting sick during fashion week. Keep your body condition in check and take meds as neccessary.

Clothes

  • Underwear
  • Socks (lots of them)
  • T-Shirts
  • Jean
  • Hats (Beanies usually)
  • Outerwear
  • Raincoat

If things are required, go to Uniqlo and buy as needed. Most important things to consider is the weather depending on the city you are travelling.(keep tabs on the forecast when travel dates are approaching) I usually form my wardrobe around rain so I have two Goretex Shell jackets(Acronym and Nike ACG) and have Uniqlo ultra light down to keep myself warm. Ideally, you want avoid holding an umbrella and trying to shoot at the same time. We are street style photographers, so be ready to get soaked.

Documents

  • Passport (Take a photo in your mobile device as emergency)
  • Pen (to fill out customs form or write down anything)
  • Driver’s License (to prove your age)
  • Reservations for accommodations

Gears

  • Camera
  • Lenses
  • Camera rain covers
  • Laptop/Charger
  • USB Hub
  • External Hard Drives
  • Travel Converters for Power
  • Phone/Charger

I do not recommend bringing a power bar(as I had a horrible experience of them blowing up in front of me twice and sunk $50 or so) just get a travel converter for whatever you are bringing.
